•   Where and when is pageant going to take place?
The pageant will take place on TBD and venue is TBD
•  What are the age eligibility requirements for entering the pageant?
Princess: Ages 7-12
Teen: Ages 13-17
Miss: Ages 18-27 (Single Women/Never Married)
Mrs.: Ages 21-55 (Married/ Once married but parted/Single women above age of 27 years)

Please note, an applicant should be a resident of North Carolina.

•   Are there any height or weight requirements to participate?
No. There are no required height, weight, or specific measurements that qualify you to compete. The selection committee is looking for outgoing, intelligent, and confident Indian girls and women who are excited to represent the state of North Carolina.

•   Do I need to have prior pageant experience to participate in this pageant?
No! Quite often, contestants are the “girls next door” with little or no pageant experience. We welcome girls and women of all experience levels to apply!

•   How will the pageant be judged?
Princess: Each contestant will be judged in Evening gown and a short speech and Talent round. The top five will move on to the Question and Answer segment.

Teen: Each contestant will be judged in THREE areas of competition: Indian traditional wear round, Evening gown round and Talent Round. The top five will move on to the Question and Answer segment.

Miss: Each contestant will be judged in THREE areas of competition: Indian traditional wear round, Evening gown round and Talent Round. The top five will move on to the Question and Answer segment.

Mrs.: Each contestant will be judged in THREE areas of competition: Indian traditional wear round, Evening gown round and Talent Round. The top five will move on to the Question and Answer segment

•   Is there a talent portion for the pageant?
Yes, there will be a talent portion for All the North Carolina categories

•   Will there be a time limit for the talent portion?
Yes, there will be time limit that each contestant will need to follow. Details will be given to all the contestants under all categories in the upcoming weeks

•   How many contestants will be accepted?
The number of contestants will vary per category. Contestants will be selected based on area of representation, responses to the registration form, and eligibility.

•   Where can I go to register for the pageant?

•   How many uploads (photo and talent) can I make to my registration form?
To keep it fair for all contestants, please no more than 2 photos per contestant be uploaded. For talent (if applicable to your category), please submit only one talent per contestant. We would like to see a variety of talent from our contestants so show us what you have to offer!

•   What is the registration fee?
Registration is now open and we are accepting applications! The fees is non-refundable fee is $450 per contestant. Subject to change

•   What is the deadline to register for the pageant?
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to take advantage of the early bird registration fee and to ensure you are eligible to participate as there are limited spots available! Deadline to register will be closed as soon as we reach our maximum number of applicants per the event time and venue capacity. If you are serious about participating, submit your registration form and fee earlier than later!

•   What happens after I submit my completed registration form and fee?
After all your information and fee is received, entries will be reviewed by our selection committee. If proper eligibility has been met, you will be contacted for the next step. Additional details will be revealed in the upcoming weeks to qualifying applicants.

•   What if I change my mind after paying for the pageant?
Unfortunately, any contestant who decides to not further participate or appear for the pageant will not be entitled to a refund of the registration fee. No exceptions.

•   Who will be the judges for the pageant?
We are hard at work, searching the state and country for outstanding individuals to serve in these positions. Our judges will be from varied and exciting backgrounds, and include some of the pageantry’s most qualified individuals. Make sure to check the website in the upcoming months to see who has been selected for the pageant!

•   How much do I need to invest on pageant wear?
You do not need to spend a fortune on traditional and/or evening wear. It is most important to find outfits that you will feel confident in and that best suit you and your personality. The personal choice of gowns have spanned from simple to elegant, to hand beaded. Remember, the judges will not be scoring the traditional and evening wear but rather the girl or woman wearing it!

•   Will any resources be provided to contestants to assist during pageant preparation?
Yes. See below for acceptable guidelines for traditional and evening wear. We will provide resources (online and in person) for cat-walk, hair/makeup contacts, and anything else you will need in the upcoming weeks. Preparing for the pageant should be FUN and can be done on your own.

Contestants in the Princess category will need to be dressed in evening wear and should be ready from head to toe prior to the start of the pageant. Dressing rooms will be available for all other girls and women in the other categories for changing of outfits and talent preparation. All contestants will need to be “self-sufficient” during the pageant, which means that no hair stylists or makeup artists will be allowed to assist you.

•   What is traditional wear?
Anything that represents Indian culture. It doesn’t have to represent the region you come from. Saree, Lehenga, Kurta, Salwar, and Anarkali are all considered traditional.

•   What is evening wear?
Any dress beyond the knee, or long gown.

•   What are the next steps or available opportunities after participating in this pageant?
The winners from the Teen, Miss and Mrs., along with the first and second runners-ups, will go on to the National Pageant. Here, the girls and women will compete against contestants from other states in the U.S. The winners from the national level India Pageant will then go on to compete in the International pageant, where she will compete with winners from other country pageants!
